DWI Driver Busted Speeding On Route 46: Mount Olive PD A 32-year-old Budd Lake man was arrested and charged with drunk driving on Route 46, authorities said. At 11:58 p.m. on Friday, May 1, officers observed a gray Nissan speeding on Route 46, Mount Olive police said. Officers initiated a traffic stop and as they spoke to the driver,  Tadeo Estigarribiaescob, they detected the odor of alcohol and believed him to be impaired, police said. Following a field sobriety test, Estigarribiaescob was arrested and charged with DWI, careless driving and reckless driving, police said.

Police have previously directed everyone between Vicky Lane and Country Club Road to shelter in place. Authorities did not reveal specific details.

At 1:03 p.m., police responded to a  jewelry store at Ferry Street near Van Buren Street after three men arrived in a stolen vehicle, exited and used sledgehammers to break the store's front door and windows and take an unknown amount of jewelry, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said.
