An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. Lumberton Mayor Admits To Driving Drunk With Child In Car: Prosecutor A Burlington County mayor has pleaded guilty to driving drunk with her child in the car, authorities announced Tuesday, March 3. Gina LaPlaca was sentenced to three years of supervision under a diversionary program for first-time offenders known as Pretrial Intervention, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw said. Support Swells After Barnegat Father Of 3, 51 Dies Suddenly Adam Jastrzebski, a 51-year-old Barnegat Township man, died on Thursday, Feb. 26, according to a fundraiser set up to support his family. A lifelong Barnegat resident, Jastrzebski was often referred to as the "unofficial town mayor", John Jastrzebski, his brother, who organized the fundraiser wrote. Adam grew up playing soccer, basketball and baseball and spent his adulthood volunteering as a coach. At 6:25 a.m., officers responded to West Avenue and Woodbridge Avenue after Jose Acosta was struck by a 2014 Nissan Rogue while attempting to cross West Avenue in a marked crosswalk, Woodbridge police said. At 11:50 p.m., Plumsted Township police responded to Pinehurst Road after a Ford Bronco traveling northbound crossed over the double yellow line into the southbound lane of travel and struck a Toyota Sienna, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.
