Human Skull Discovered In Middle Twp: Prosecutor A human skull was found in Middle Township on Tuesday, March 3, authorities said. A resident was walking in a wooded area in the Whitesboro section of Middle Township when they discovered the skull, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland, and Middle Township Police Chief Tracey Super said. Law enforcement conducted a search of the area and skeletal remains believed to be those of an adult were located and recovered. Michael Griffis is charged with negligent use of a firearm and causing damage of property after he shot a 70-year-old Burlington County man in the leg with birdshot pellets while hunting in Kingwood Township in Hunterdon County, NJDEP Fish & Wildlife Conservation Police said. The 70-year-old man's dog was also struck by pellets, authorities said. The man who was shot sustained non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
