Deadly Hit-And-Run Bike Crash Victim In Atlantic Beach Identified
The victim in a deadly hit-and-run bicycle crash on Long Island has been identified, police said Thursday, March 26.
Tony Thomas, a 59-year-old Far Rockaway resident, was killed in the wreck in Atlantic Beach on Tuesday, March 24, the Nassau County Police Department said.
Erin Henry, 67, was driving a 2019 Honda HR-V eastbound on Beech Street near the intersection with Scott Drive around 7:45 a.m. when she struck and killed Thomas, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Long Island man raped a 13-year-old girl in his car after meeting her at a gas station, authorities said Thursday, March 26.
Michael Liontonia, a 38-year-old West Islip man, met the victim at 5556 Express Drive South on Monday, March 23 in Holtsville after arranging the meeting by phone, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
He picked the girl up, drove to a secluded area, sexually assaulted her in his car, then dropped her off at the gas station, according to police.

Frank Kovacs, elected mayor of Laurens in 2025, began assaulting the girl when she was 13, New York State Police said. The attacks occurred between 2008 and 2011, according to authorities.
