A 16-year-old boy was seriously hurt in a violent crash on Interstate 84 that state police say involved speeding and a driver who fled the scene. The crash happened just before 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, on eastbound I-84 near exit 13 in Newtown, according to Connecticut State Police. A 31-year-old Perth Amboy man was killed in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Edison early Sunday morning, Jan. 22, authorities said. At 4:02 a.m., a BMW SUV driven by Alan Cahuanasayhua struck the back of a Chevrolet pickup truck parked on the right shoulder of the Turnpike south, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police. A man struck and killed in a drug-impaired crash on Sunrise Highway had himself been arrested just three days earlier on a separate drugged-driving charge, court records show. Korey Klein, 37, of Bellport, was hit around 5:20 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, while walking along the eastbound Sunrise Highway Service Road near the Brentwood Road overpass in Bay Shore, as Daily Voice reported.
