Woman's Legs Severed Before Teen Driver Fled Wyandanch Crash Injuring 5 Others
A Long Island teenager will spend years behind bars after fleeing a car crash that severed a woman’s legs and injured five others.
Valdemar Meza-Martinez, 17, of Brentwood, was sentenced to 1⅓ to 4 years in prison in Suffolk County Court Wednesday, Jan. 14, after pleading guilty to leaving the scene of a serious injury crash.
The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 4, 2024, on Patton Avenue in Wyandanch, according to the Suffolk County DA’s office.

Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Huntington Station Crash: Police
A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash on West Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station, Suffolk County police announced on Thursday, Jan. 9.
The rider was traveling eastbound on a Suzuki motorcycle when it struck a 2024 Acura that was also heading eastbound in front of 217 West Jericho Turnpike, according to police.
The crash happened at 2:47 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, Suffolk County Second Squad detectives said.
