Knife-Wielding Pair Rob Restaurant After Dinner In West Hempstead: Police
Two diners were arrested after allegedly stealing items from a restaurant and threatening employees with a knife on Long Island, authorities said.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, at La Candela Restaurant on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead, according to the Fifth Squad.
Jason Thompson, 45, of Bayside, and Dana Ardezzone, 47, of Queens Village, are accused of removing tableware items and hiding them in to-go bags after dining inside the restaurant, police said.

A 66-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle at a Bergen County intersection, authorities said Friday, April 17.
Northvale police responded to Clinton Avenue at West Avenue around 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, for a report of a pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle, according to a release from Police Chief Howard Ostrow.
