The crash occurred at 4:01 p.m. on the Atlantic City Expressway express lanes westbound near the Pleasantville Toll Plaza in Pleasantville, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. All toll lanes are closed, the NJDOT said.

The woman, one of the drivers, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead at 10:19 p.m., police said. She has not been identified, police said. At 11:44 a.m., troopers responded to 56 Paulinskill Lake Rd. in Fredon Township and found a barn workshop fully engulfed in flames, Christopher Postorino, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. One person sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Postorino said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Postorino said.
