At 4:15 a.m., officers responded to 64 Oakland St. after a scooterist was riding on Oakland Street from Prospect Street toward Mellon Street, Trenton police said. The scooter rider attempted to avoid a head-on collision with a vehicle but fell under the car, police said. Carjacking Near Rutgers University: Police Four people are at large after carjacking a vehicle near Rutgers University early Monday morning, Sept. 29, authorities said. A victim told officers four passengers approached their vehicle at Nichol Avenue and Sanford Street in New Brunswick and displayed a weapon before ordering them out of the vehicle, Rutgers Police said. The four perpetrators then fled the scene in the vehicle, which was recovered a short time later, police said. No injuries were reported, police said.

Horse Falls On Top Of Rider At Farmstead: Readington PD An equestrian was airlifted to a nearby hospital after a horse fell on top of them on Sunday, Sept. 28, authorities said. At 12:30 p.m., officers responded to Bouman Stickney Farmstead after a rider was thrown from a horse, Readington Township police said. The horse fell on top of the rider, resulting in significant but non-life-threatening injuries, police said. First responders provided immediate medical care but the nature of the injures required the rider to be airlifted to a local trauma center, police said.

Howell Man Had Child Porn On Electronic Devices: Prosecutor A 61-year-old Howell man was arrested and charged with possessing child pornography, authorities announced Monday, Sept. 29. John Curley was arrested after a search warrant conducted by the Howell Township Police Department led to the seizure of electronic devices which yielded multiple images of child sexual abuse materials,  Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said. Curley was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 24 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of child sexual abuse materials, Santiago said.

Jersey City Man Gunned Down: Prosecutor A 27-year-old Jersey City man was fatally shot Sunday, Sept. 28, authorities said. At 5 a.m., Jersey City police responded to shots fired at Union Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and found Jamaal George with a gunshot wound to his upper body, Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said. George was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead soon after, Mello said. The shooting remains under investigation and no arrests have been made, Mello said.
