Family Loses Everything In XMas Day Warren County Fire: Fundraiser The Jackson-Jordan family in Warren County has been put through the ringer. And now they've lost their home on Christmas Day. The family's home on North Main Street was destroyed in an early morning house fire on Thursday, Dec. 25, Greenwich Township Emergency Squad said. Elizabeth Teacher One Of 12 Child Predators Nabbed In ''Operation Bad Santa' Sting: Prosecutor A teacher in the Elizabeth Public Schools has been terminated after he was arrested as part of a sting to bust child predators called Operation Bad Santa. Joseph Davicsin, a 46-year-old middle school teacher at Chessie Dentley Roberts Academy School No. 30, was one of 12 people caught up in the sting. Family Displaced In XMas Eve Fire That Kills Pet In Upper Twp: Firefighters A Christmas Eve fire displaced a family and killed a pet in Upper Township authorities said. At 11:15 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 24, firefighters responded to the 1600 block of Route 9 and found a kitchen fire with moderate smoke throughout the structure, Seaville Fire Rescue said. Bariatric Patient Killed After Firefighters Attempt Rescue At West Orange Home: Prosecutor A 36-year-old woman was killed in a fire on West Orange early Friday morning, Dec. 26, authorities said. Woman Rescued After Falling Into Water In Ocean Grove: Authorities A woman was rescued after she fell into the water in Ocean Grove near Broadway Beach on Tuesday, Dec. 23, authorities said. Verona Firefighter Gavin Martin, 21 Killed In Crash: Authorities Gavin Martin, a 21-year-old Verona native, was killed in a car crash in Maine on Tuesday, Dec. 16. Martin was operating his 2005 Chevy Colorado truck eastbound in Lincoln County when his truck crossed over the westbound lane and left the roadway, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said. TD Bank Catches Fire On Christmas: Salem FD Firefighters in Salem spent their Christmas at TD Bank. At 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 25, firefighters responded to the TD Bank at 443 East Broadway for a structure fire and found smoke pushing the roofline and zero visibility through the front windows of the bank, the Salem Fire Department said. The fire was located in a utility/break room in the rear and extinguished with a hand-line, firefighters said. Ventilation and overhaul from the roof lasted approximately 2 hours, firefighters said. Missing Pleasantville Woman Struck, Killed By Train On Christmas Eve: NJ Transit A woman was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train in Absecon Wednesday, Dec. 24, authorities said. At 7:03 p.m., Loretta White hit by a train that had departed Atlantic City Terminal at 6:54 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Philadelphia 30th Street station at 8:34 p.m., NJ Transit said. Philly Man Broke Into Township of Hamilton Home: PD A 27-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested and charged after he broke into a home in Township of Hamilton on Tuesday, Dec. 23, authorities said. At 11:50 p.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Underhill Court for a burglary in progress, Township of Hamilton police said. The suspect, later identified as Quaashie Gary, ran into a nearby wooded area, police said. A police K9 was deployed and began searching for Gary, who was apprehended soon after, police said. Gary was charged with burglary, criminal attempt and criminal trespassing, police said.
