Barnegat Home Catches On Fire: Prosecutor A residence in Barnegat sustained a fire on Tuesday evening, Jan. 13, authorities said. At 8:30 p.m.,  the Barnegat Township Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a residence on East Thorn Avenue for a report of a structure fire, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. Upon arrival, emergency personnel observed fire from the front door and window, Billhimer said. The fire was extinguished, Billhimer said. The cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation, Billhimer said.
