Worker Killed By Steel Beam In Newark: Authorities A worker was killed after a steel beam fell on him in Newark on Wednesday, Jan. 14, authorities said. At 6 p.m., police responded to the 100 block of Raymond Boulevard and found a man unresponsive after he had fallen from a truck while loading steel beams, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. The man had accidentally fallen off the truck before one of the beams fell on him, fatally injuring him, Miranda said. The victim has not been identified.
