On Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 11:22 p.m., Elmwood Park police responded to a shooting and found a 27-year-old man with gunshot wounds, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. 63-Year-Old Man Dead After Struck By Vehicle: Linden PD A 63-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a car in Linden Thursday, Jan. 22, authorities said. At 8 p.m., officers responded to the 2500 block of E. Edgar Road after a 2019 Dodge SUV traveling northbound on Route 1 hit the man, who has not been identified, as he was crossing the street, Linden police said. The pedestrian was treated on scene and transported to Newark University Hospital where he was pronounced dead,  The driver of the SUV was not injured, police said. The crash remains under investigation, police said.

NJ Man Killed By Falling Tree Limb: Njsp A 38-year-old Frankford man was killed while cutting a tree on Thursday, Jan. 22, authorities said. At 5:59 p.m., troopers responded to a residence on Union Turnpike in Frankford after William Woortman was cutting a tree and was struck by a falling tree limb, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Woortman was pronounced dead at the scene, Lebron said. The incident remains under investigation, Lebron said.
