Camden Man Shot, Killed In Newark: Prosecutor A 62-year-old Camden man was fatally shot in Newark on Saturday, Feb. 21, authorities said. At 3:38 a.m., officers responded to Lexington Street and found Jeffrey Washington with a gunshot wound to the chest, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. Washington was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead soon after, authorities said. The shooting remains under investigation, authorities said.

Man Gunned Down Brother In New Brunswick: Prosecutor A 28-year-old New Brunswick man was arrested and charged with fatally shooting his brother on Sunday, Feb. 22, authorities said. At 12:42 p.m., officers responded to Riverside Drive and found Ahmad Sannoh with multiple gunshot wounds, Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and New Brunswick Police Chief Vincent Sabo said. Sannoh was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. At 9:01 p.m., a 31-year-old Elizabeth woman was driving south on the Turnpike outer road while a Tesla passenger vehicle was parked in the right shoulder, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Truck Hauling Cookies Overturns, Tractor Trailer Engulfed In Flames On Route 287: Njsp A truck hauling chocolate chip cookies overturned on Route 287 in Bridgewater early Friday morning, Feb. 20, authorities said. At 2:35 a.m., two tractor trailers collided on Route 287 south in Bridgewater, Christopher Postorino, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The crash caused a tractor trailer hauling chocolate chip cookies to overturn while the other truck, hauling fresh food products, overturned, Postorino said.
