A Wayne resident armed with two swords is in stable condition after being shot by police on Friday night, Feb. 14, authorities said. The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Shooting Response Team responded to a home on White Birch Court around 9:55 p.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. Wayne police had been dispatched to perform a welfare check when they encountered the suspect, armed with two swords, Valdes said. Drunk, Reckless Driver Busted On New Year's Eve: Denville PD
A 52-year-old Budd Lake resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated on New Year's Eve in Denville, authorities said. On Tuesday, Dec. 31, officers conducted a welfare check on Jermaine Jackson, who was sleeping in his vehicle which was parked and idling on East Main Street, Denville police said. An investigation revealed Jackson was under the influence of alcohol and he failed field sobriety tests, police said. Jackson was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and careless driving, police said.
