Gunshots, Then Crash: Car Slams Into Capital Region Home After Shooting
Police are asking for tips after two people opened fire on a car in the region, causing the vehicle to crash into a house. The incident happened at around 9:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, in Schenectady, near Eastern and Elmer avenues. Schenectady Police said the vehicle was driving near the former Elmer Avenue Elementary School campus when two suspects walking nearby shot at the car. The driver then lost control and drove onto a lawn before crashing into the home’s front porch. Nobody was injured in the ordeal, police said. The suspects fled on foot. A 21-year-old woman has died and three others were hospitalized following a six-vehicle crash on Interstate 83 on Saturday morning, Pennsylvania State Police in York explained. Chloe Brown of the 11,800 block of Cross Roads Avenue, Felton, has been identified by York County Coroner Pam Gay following the crash. A 19-year-old man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in the region. The collision occurred in Orange County around 7:40 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 on Route 17 in the town of Goshen, said Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police. Nevel said a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2017 Chevy Traverse, driven by Queen County resident Andrew Joel Johnson, age 19, of Far Rockaway, was traveling west on Route 17 when for unknown reasons he lost control of the vehicle. Firefighters Cut 3 Seriously Injured Men From Truck After It Crashes Into Western Mass Tree
Three men were seriously hurt after the truck they were in crashed into a tree Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 9, in Berkshire County, authorities said. Virginia State Police investigators have identified the Manassas woman who was killed after being ejected from a vehicle last week on I-77. A person had to be rescued after crashing into a Hudson Valley home and becoming trapped inside, officials said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, Nov. 29 around 12:30 p.m., when a vehicle careened into a home in Brewster, according to the Carmel Fire Department.
