A 79-year-old Orange man was killed in a crash on Route 280 on Sunday, Sept. 14, authorities said. At 12:57 a.m., troopers responded to Route 280 east in Orange after a Honda SUV veered off the roadway, struck a mound of sand, overturned and crashed into two trees, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Joel Sterling, the driver of the Honda, was pronounced dead at the scene, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Motorcyclist Killed In Holmdel Crash After Striking Guardrail: Police
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Holmdel Saturday morning, Sept. 14, authorities said. At 10:26 a.m. officers responded to Pleasant Valley Road after a motorcycle struck a guardrail, Holmdel police said. The motorcyclist, who has not been identified, was treated on scene and transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in critical condition, police said, but has since died, according to New Jersey State Police fatal crash data.
