7 Hospitalized After Route 9 Crash In Region
Seven people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in the region. It happened in Columbia County at about 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30 on Route 9 in the town of Kinderhook, just north of Maple Lane South. A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 28-year-old man from the village of Valatie in Columbia County, was traveling southbound when a 2004 Honda Accord, driven by an 18-year-old Bronx woman, exited a parking lot and made a left-hand turn in front of the Silverado, causing the collision, New York State Police said. Filming To Take Place On Busy Main Road In Sleepy Hollow: Here's When
Officials are warning motorists that filming will be taking place on a busy main road in Westchester and may cause traffic delays. The filming will take place on Thursday, March 21 between 7 p.m. and midnight on both directions of Route 9 in Sleepy Hollow between Sleepy Hollow High School and Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant, according to Sleepy Hollow village officials. Driver Flees Scene Of 2-Car Crash On Busy Route In Croton
A driver had to be located by authorities after running from the scene of a crash on a busy route in Northern Westchester, fire officials said. The crash happened on Thursday, Jan. 18 around 10:30 p.m., when two vehicles collided on northbound Route 9 in Croton-on-Hudson near Croton Point Avenue, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. A Hudson Valley alleged drunk driver was nabbed after taking police on a high-speed chase through multiple jurisdictions. The incident took place in Dutchess Couty around 11:10 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14 in the town of Poughkeepsie. According to Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, Scott W. A 20-year-old Newark resident was arrested after he fatally struck a pedestrian on New Year's Eve in Westchester County, NY and fled the scene, authorities said. At 2:32 a.m., first responders in Croton-on-Hudson responded to a report of a pedestrian lying in the roadway on Route 9 and transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Croton police said. Brush Fire Ignites Near Residential Street In Croton-On-Hudson
A late-night brush fire prompted a quick response from firefighters near a residential street in Northern Westchester. The blaze began on Thursday, Nov. 30 just before midnight in Croton-on-Hudson at the corner of Warren Road and Briggs Lane, which is close to Route 9, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Several customers came to the rescue when a man claiming to have a gun attempted to rob a business in the region, police said.
