A woman died after jumping from a moving vehicle and hitting the pavement in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Wednesday, July 9.
Abigail R. Smith, 24, of Upper Macungie Township, exited the passenger side of a Subaru sedan while it was still in motion on the 2300 block of Seipstown Road in Weisenberg Township, troopers said.

More than 30,000 bicycle helmets are being recalled because of added risks of head injury, officials said.
Bell Sports is recalling about 31,200 bike helmets sold in the US and 480 in Canada, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday, June 26. The recall affects children's Axle, Cadence, Rev, and Frenzy helmets, along with adult Cadence and Passage models.
The bike helmets don't meet federal impact protection standards and "can fail to protect the user in the event of a crash." No injuries have been reported, according to the CPSC.

A 50-year-old Manahawkin resident was arrested and charged with assaulting an 81-year-old man on Thursday, May 15, authorities said.
At 4:55 p.m., the victim, also a Manahawkin resident, arrived at a residence on Compass Court to retrieve mail, Stafford Township police said. The victim was confronted by George Rutz, who assaulted him, causing the victim to sustain a head injury and lose consciousness, police said.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for his injuries while Rutz was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, police said.

Pedestrian Dies Days After Being Struck By Vehicle: Princeton Police
A 74-year-old man died on Friday, March 14, days after he was struck by a vehicle in Princeton, authorities said.
At 3:44 p.m., a 17-year-old was driving a 2012 gray Honda Odyssey when it struck the man, later identified as Hin Chin, while the vehicle was making a left turn, Princeton police said. The man sustained a head injury, police said.
Chin was airlifted to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, police said, and a landing zone was created at Princeton High School.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
