A 40-year-old man was shot and killed outside an Atlantic City apartment complex late last month, and now a local man has been arrested and charged with his murder, authorities said.
Kelsey Smith, 37, of Atlantic City, was arrested on Friday, July 11, and charged with Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
He was advised of the charges while detained at the Atlantic County Justice Facility, officials said.

A deadly confrontation in Northern Virginia left one man dead and another hospitalized after a shooting and stabbing inside an Alexandria building, authorities said.
Officers with the Alexandria Police Department were called to the 6000 block of Edsall Road around 5:55 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, for a reported stabbing, according to a department spokesperson.

Scott M. Schultz, 45, was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the forehead on the 1300 block of Sellers Street at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, Philadelphia Police said on Monday, June 23, 2025.
