Hit-Run Newfield Driver Calls Cops 20 Minutes After Killing Jogger, Cops Say
A 35-year-old jogger was killed in a Gloucester County hit-and-run Sunday morning, Aug. 24 — and the driver was arrested minutes later after calling police and admitting his involvement, authorities said.
Emmanuel Anakwah, 36, of Newfield, was heading south on Madison Avenue near Dalton Avenue in Newfield, when he hit Mckeon C. Mckeon-Fish, who was jogging southbound along the roadway, at 8:10 a.m., Matthew DeCesari said.
Mckeon-Fish of Newfield, was pronounced dead at the scene and Anakwah fled, police said.

Driver Wanted To Hurt People When He Plowed Across Riverwinds Fields, Police Say
A driver accused of intentionally putting lives at risk during youth football practice at a South Jersey sports complex has been arrested and charged, officials said.
The incident occurred around 7:29 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, when officers from the West Deptford Police Department were called to the RiverWinds complex for a report of a vehicle driving recklessly across the fields, Chief Michael Franks said.
According to police, the vehicle ultimately crashed into a light standard, near a large group of people gathered for football practice, the chief said.

A South Jersey man and one-time aide to former NJ Gov. Chris Christie has pleaded guilty to possessing and creating child sex abuse images, officials said.
Kevin Tomafsky, 43, of Washington Township (Gloucester County) pleaded guilty on Monday, July 28, to first-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child before Judge John C. Eastlack Jr., according to county prosecutors.
Tomafsky, who accepted a plea deal, will serve 10 years in state prison, with a minimum of five years before parole eligibility, officials said. He will also be placed on Parole Supervision for Life and must register under M…

A Franklin Township woman was accused of having nearly 1,000 pounds of marijuana and other drugs, authorities said.
Maria Santiago-Cossean, 55, was arrested, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release on Monday, June 3. Investigators executed a search warrant on her home on Thursday, May 30.
