Firefighters Make Quick Work Of Saddle Brook Basement Blaze
Firefighters rescued a dog while quickly dousing a basement blaze that damaged a Saddle Brook home. The fire broke out in the two-story Alberta Drive home around 9 p.m. Saturday. No injuries were reported. Providing mutual aid either at the scene or in coverage were firefighters from Elmwood Park, Fair Lawn, Garfield and Rochelle Park. The Saddle Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded. A dog was rescued and no injuries were reported in the fire on Alberta Drive in Saddle Brook.Damien Danis for DAILY VOICE

Numerous People Rescued After Residential Fire Breaks Out In Fairfield County
Numerous residents were rescued from an apartment fire in Fairfield County. The fire started around 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 5, at 1130 Williams St. in Bridgeport, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport. According to Appleby, the first arriving units reported fire on the second floor which had extended to the third floor. Firefighters rescued several pets during a blaze that blew through a Lodi home. The fire broke out on the first floor of the Westervelt Place home between 1st and Charles street just before 6 p.m. Monday. It quickly went to two alarms -- three for coverage. Authorities rescued a group of people from a fire at a Long Island home that injured four people, including two teenagers.
