Driver Jumps Out Of Passing Car To Help Resident Who Escaped From Seymour House Fire A Connecticut resident received heavy burns to his head and face while escaping from his burning home. The incident occurred in New Haven County on Lynn Terrace around 6 p.m., Thursday, in Seymour. According to Seymour Fire Marshal Timothy Willis, when firefighters arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames and an injured resident who had "self-evacuated." Willis said a Good Samaritan had jumped out of a passing car to help neighbors get the man in his 60s to the ambulance. The unidentified man was transported to the Bridgeport Hospital Burn Unit. Man Critically Hurt In South Philly Fire, Officials Say An apartment caught fire on Thursday, July 18, sending one man to the hospital with serious injuries, Philadelphia police said.  The blaze happened above a vacant barber shop on the 1900 block of South 22nd Street around 9 a.m., authorities wrote in a release. The home was "engulfed in flames" when first responders arrived.  The 63-year-old victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Philadelphia on Cedar Avenue in critical condition, police said. The Fire Marshal was called to the scene, they added.

Early Morning Pottstown Fire Sends 5 To Hospital, Officials Say Multiple residents are being treated for injuries and smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in Pottstown on Thursday, May 30.  First responders were called to the Robert P. Smith Towers, 501 High Street, just after 6 a.m., according to borough officials.  They arrived to find a blaze on the fifth floor and began "rescue and fire suppression efforts," authorities said.  The state police and Pottstown borough fire marshals are investigating the cause.

Body Found In Garage After Fire, Philadelphia Police Say One person is dead after a garage caught fire in southwest Philadelphia early on Thursday, March 21, authorities say. Police and firefighters were called to the 7600 block of Este Avenue in the city's Eastwick neighborhood just before 1:30 a.m., PPD said. After the flames were extinguished firefighters found the victim's body inside the garage, according to police.  They were pronounced dead at the scene.
