Nearly 20K Without Power After Storm Downs Trees, Lines Across PA
Thousands remain without electricity after severe thunderstorms and high winds tore through the region Monday evening, utility officials said.
About 70,000 customers experienced outages since the start of the storm on Monday, March 16, according to PPL Electric Utilities.
As of 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, more than 50,000 customers had their power restored, while approximately 19,800 customers remained without service.
Crews are working around the clock to assess damage and restore power as safely and quickly as possible, the utility said.
