'No Charges' After Fight Leads To Fatal Shooting Inside Allentown Business: Police
No criminal charges will be filed in the fatal shooting of David Gibbs inside Big Woody’s in Allentown, the Lehigh County District Attorney announced on Friday, Feb. 27.
Gibbs, 34, was shot during a fight that broke out inside the Hanover Avenue bar on Dec. 19, 2025. The coroner ruled his death a homicide caused by a gunshot wound to the torso.
District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan said his office reviewed bar surveillance video, witness statements, investigative reports, physical evidence, medical findings, and Pennsylvania law before reaching the decision.

Camp Hill Inmate Charged For Assaults On Guards While Serving Sentence For Murder Found Dead
An inmate serving a life sentence was found unresponsive in his cell at the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill, prison officials announced on Monday, Jan. 26.
James Campbell, 46, was found unresponsive on Sunday, Jan. 25, and prison staff immediately began life-saving measures, Superintendent Lindsy Kendall said in the release.
Facility medical personnel responded, and Lower Allen EMS continued advanced life support efforts, officials said.
Campbell was pronounced dead at 1:32 p.m., according to the release.
