A 37-year-old Hawthorne man was found lying on the side of the same Glen Rock road twice, just over 24 hours later, highly-intoxicated each time, police said. A concern citizen reported finding the man lying next to a tree on the side of Doremus Avenue near Faber Field around 10:22 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Child Accidentally Sets Elkton Shed Ablaze, Damages Home: Fire Marshal
A child who accidentally set a fire inside a Cecil County shed caused thousands of dollars in damage to his family's home, officials say. Late in the afternoon on Friday, Aug. 16, crews from the Singerly Fire Company responded to a home on Hollingsworth Manor in Elkton, where a homeowner reported that their tarp-covered shed was on fire. More than two dozen firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames and get the fire under control, but not before it caused approximately $25,000 in damage. Drug Dealer Busted Stashing 4+ Pounds Of Cocaine In Maryland Woods Sentenced: Prosecutors
A Maryland man who stashed kilos of cocaine in the woods will spend more than a decade in prison, the St. Mary's County State's Attorney's Office announced on Monday night. Laray Anthony Maddox, 42, was sentenced to 30 years with all but 11 years and six months to serve following the recovery of at least four pounds of cocaine in 2022 that were found in a secluded wooded area not far from his California home. Police in Holbrook are investigating a triple stabbing that happened early Saturday morning, July 13.
