Serial Burglar, Juvenile Nabbed For Stealing 2 BMWs: Fairfield PD
A 22-year-old Newark resident and a 17-year-old were arrested and charged with stealing two BMWs in Fairfield, authorities announced Thursday, Aug. 7.
On Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 7:57 a.m., officers responded to Colt Street for a report of a motor vehicle stolen from a driveway of a home overnight, Fairfield police said.
Altamir Thornton and the juvenile entered the home through a window and stole cash and a key fob to a 2024 BMW X7M, police said. The vehicle, along with a BMW X5 were later spotted in Glen Avenue that day. The BMW X5 was stolen from Piscataway, police said.

A woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly attacking a woman and locking her inside a room during a violent dispute in a Long Island apartment, police said.
The incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at a Farmingdale residence on Eastern Parkway, according to Nassau County Police.

At 12:05 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, officers responded to a 911 call from a homeowner on Witherspoon Way about people walking up his back patio and attempting to open his rear sliding glass door, Marlboro police said. Ponytailed Burglar Scared Off From Bayville Home, Police Say
A Long Island woman’s home security system may have stopped a burglary in progress after she spotted a stranger trying to break in.
The 36-year-old Bayville homeowner was at her Creek Ridge Road residence at around 9:20 p.m. Monday, July 28, when she saw a man attempting to force his way into her home on her surveillance cameras, according to Nassau County Police. She immediately called 911.
Before officers arrived, the suspect fled the scene.
