On Wednesday May 3, the Brick Township Street Crimes Unit (SCU) concluded a lengthy drug investigation with the execution of two residential search warrants. The SCU was assisted by the Ocean County Narcotics Strike Force and the Lakewood Street Crimes Unit. Police Rescue 83 Cats From Jersey Shore Home Police in Brick said they rescued 83 cats and three dogs from a home in the township. On Thursday evening, May 4, Brick police said they had received a call from a resident on Mantoloking Road requesting police assistance for "an excessive number of cats inside the residence." Johnson-Simmons was found dead of a gunshot wound on Monday, Jan. 2 in Neptune Township, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago. Police are investigating the case as a homicide.
