Dog In 'Crazy Rescue Ladies' Hoarding Case Reunited With Her Tennessee Owners
One of the 180 animals rescued last month from an alleged Jersey Shore puppy mill was reunited with its original owners from Tennessee on New Year's Eve. Two women who call themselves "Crazy Rescue Ladies" on social media were charged after authorities found the neglected dogs and cats living in unsanitary conditions in their Jersey Shore home last month, police said. Four Arrested After Brick Detectives Overhear Them Talking About Drug Sales: Police
Brick detectives were conducting surveillance around the Walmart on Route 88 when they reportedly overheard four suspects talking about their engagement in drug activity, police said. The detectives made contact with the suspects on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. and K-9 Officer Ray LaPoint responded with his K-9 partner Rebel. : Brick Woman Found Guilty In Wife's Death With Wine Chiller: Prosecutor
A 49-year-old woman from Brick has been found guilty in the murder of her wife using a wine chiller, authorities said. Mayra Gavilanez-Alectus was found guilty in connection with the death of Rebecca Gavilanez-Alectus, following a nearly three-week jury trial, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, The murder occurred sometime between May 16 and 17, 2020, in Brick Township. Shooting Victims ID'd In Toms River: Prosecutor
Two additional shooting victims have been identified in an incident that occurred Saturday, Aug. 27 in Toms River, authorities said. Police previously said Nymere Tinsley, 25, of Brick was killed in the shooting at 1769 Hooper Avenue in Toms River. Two other victims also suffered gunshot wounds. A landlord-tenant dispute over a potential theft resulted in a drug arrest on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. On Friday, Aug. 19, at 9 p.m., Brick police located the suspect’s vehicle and identified the driver as Christopher Sherrill, 45, of Brick, police said. As officers approached Sherril, he allegedly tried to toss a glass pipe containing crystal methamphetamine and resisted attempts to place him under arrest, police said. Brick police arrested three men on multiple drug possession and dealing charges. On Monday, July 18, at 7:30 p.m., Street Crimes Unit detectives stopped a vehicle being operated by Ricardo Calderon, 43, of Elizabeth. The stop was related to an investigation into illicit activity on Homestead Drive, police said. A 29-year-old man from Lakewood was charged with lewdness in connection with exposing himself at Walmart, authorities said. UPDATE: A now-former Amtrak employee from the Jersey Shore was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for selling hundreds of chainsaws and chainsaw parts that he stole from the agency. Jose Rodriguez, 49, of Brick, will have to serve out the entire sentence because there's no parole in the federal prison system.
