A Danville City Councilman was doused in a flammable liquid and set on fire inside his workplace Wednesday morning, according to police in Virginia.
Shotsie Michael Buck Hayes, 29, is accused of carrying out the attack on Lee Vogler, 38, which left Vogler hospitalized and Hayes facing attempted murder and other charges, according to the Danville Police Department.
Officers were called at approximately 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, to the 700 block of Main Street for a report of a man being set on fire, according to police.

Hagerstown Man Fires Shots At Victim During Maryland Dispute, Police Say
A Maryland man is behind bars after allegedly firing multiple shots at another person during a heated overnight argument, police said.
Officers with the Hagerstown Police Department responded to the 200 block of W. Franklin Street around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, for a report of shots fired.
“Within minutes, officers were able to identify the suspect from city surveillance cameras, locate him and place him under arrest,” HPD said in a statement.

A 29-year-old Camden man has been arrested and charged after multiple shootings in Camden County, authorities announced Thursday, July 24.
On Sunday, July 20, at 8:44 p.m., a 48-year-old man arrived at a nearby hospital after being shot multiple times on the 1200 block of Lansdown Avenue in Camden, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay, Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez, and Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins said.
