A 21-year-old Connecticut man with a history of reckless driving has been charged after allegedly causing a violent crash that seriously injured his passenger, state police said.
Wes McRoy, of Thompson, was arrested Friday, June 6, and charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment, operating under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and with a motor vehicle, according to Connecticut State Police.

Ashley Elaine Barker, 34, was behind the wheel of a red 2011 Honda Fit when she crashed at the intersection of Lisburn Road and Slate Hill Road around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, according to Lower Allen Township Police. Olympic gold medalist Mary Lou Retton was arrested for DUI at the Pennsylvania border, authorities in Marion County, West Virginia announced on Tuesday, May 27.
Retton, 57, was pulled over near the state line on Saturday, May 17, 2025, and allegedly showed signs of impairment, according to arrest records. Troopers say she refused a blood alcohol test and had an open bottle of wine inside the vehicle.
