Nypd Detective From Haverstraw Rescues Pregnant Woman HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- Nicholas Estavillo, a detective with the NYPD and Haverstraw resident, saved the life of a 26-year-old woman who was six months pregnant while he was vacationing in Cancun, News 12 reports. Estavillo jumped into the ocean to rescue Maribel Esparaza from drowning earlier this month, according to News 12. Estavillo is being called a hero for his actions, News 12 reports. Stony Point Police Arrest Suspect On Theft, Stolen Property Charges STONY POINT, N.Y. -- Stony Point police have arrested a 29-year-old resident of Orange County on theft, possession of stolen property and drug charges. The arrest came from a police investigation of a theft from Walgreens, police report. The inquiry revealed that the suspect, identified as Michael Pagani of Westtown, allegedly removed numerous items from the store without paying for them, according to officials.
