Danbury Man Charged In Fake Check-Cashing Scheme in Westport WESTPORT, Conn. — A Danbury man who tried to cash three fraudulent checks at a Post Road East bank was tracked down arrested in town Friday, police said. Around 4 p.m., police said Cody Tyson, 24, of Kennedy Avenue, tried to cash three checks totaling $2,670 at the Bank of America drive-up window. When confronted by police, Tyson fled and was not pursued, as he was driving recklessly, police said. Bike Thefts Reported At Fairfield Train Stations FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield Police reported three bikes stolen from the two town train stations, despite the owners claiming all were locked in place. A cyclist reported a Trek bike valued at $500 to $600 stolen from the Fairfield Metro station sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Aug. 19. A green Critical Cycle valued at $170 vanished from the downtown Fairfield station between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m the same day. A $1,000 black Giant bike was stolen from the Metro station sometime between 10 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 20, police said.

Thousands in Tools, Materials Stolen From Fairfield Construction Site FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Workers at an apartment complex being built in Fairfield near the Bridgeport border discovered about $12,000 worth of tools and materials stolen Monday morning, police said. Workers believe that sometime between 2 p.m. on Aug. 20 and 6:40 a.m. Aug 22, someone cut the lock on a door with bolt cutters and made off with the items being used at the construction site at the corner of Commerce Drive and Black Rock Turnpike, police said.
