Racecar Driver Airlifted With Brain Bleeds, Fractures After Bridgeport Speedway Crash
A New Jersey racecar driver was seriously injured in a crash at Bridgeport Raceway and airlifted to a trauma center, his family said.
George Schweigart, a crate modified driver, was hurt during a race on Saturday night, March 21, according to a Facebook post by his mother, Cathy Schweigart.
Cathy said her son suffered two brain bleeds, three bruises on the brain, two broken ribs, a fracture under his eyes, two fractures in his neck, and fractures in his lower back.
“He has been heavily sedated since the wreck, so haven't been able to speak to him yet,” she wrote.

A longtime Newton Theatre employee has died suddenly, leaving her family and community mourning, according to a GoFundMe for her family.
Sarah Klinger served as the Box Office Manager at The Newton Theatre on Spring Street for over a decade, according to the campaign created by Jonathan Peirce, which had raised more than $19,000 as of press time.
