FDR Agency Funded Poughkeepsie School Project POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Violet Avenue School in Poughkeepsie and two others, Hyde Park Elementary and Haviland Middle School in Hyde Park, were built within 1939 and 1940 via Franklin D. Roosevelt's Public Works Administration, according to a report by the Poughkeepsie Journal.
