New Rochelle Girls Track Team Blazes To Gold At New Balance Meet NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Girls on the New Rochelle High School track team ran off with victories and climbed among the national leaders Saturday, Jan. 25 at the New Balance Games at The Armory Track and Field Center. Symone Darius won the 300 meters and the 4 x 200 team also won gold with Darius, Ashley Wiggins, Victoria Jones-Alleyne and Alicia Donaldson. Ashley Wiggins added a victory in the 50 meter hurdles as New Rochelle won the meet, which included 300 teams from the Mid-Atlanitc and New England Regions. Students Give Spirited Sochi Sendoff To Redding Figure Skater REDDING, Conn. – Students and staff at Joel Barlow High School in Redding gave hometown figure skater Brooklee Han a spirited sendoff to Sochi at the school's auditorium Tuesday morning. Han, a June 2013 graduate of the high school, will represent Australia in the winter Olympics, which begin next week in Russia. White Plains Man Charged With DWI WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.  – A White Plains man was charged with driving while intoxicated on Sunday, Jan. 26 by State Police from the Brewster barracks. Paraschkev S. Tachkov, 53, was charged with a misdemeanor after troopers stopped him for an equipment violation. Tachkov provided a positive breath sample with a Blood Alcohol Content of .16, police said. Harvey Hockey Team Splits Against Forman, Rye Country Day KATONAH, N.Y. -- The Harvey School's hockey team split its most recent games, beating Forman, 13-3, and falling to Rye Country Day, 9-4. Keith Lambert had a hat trick for Harvey, while Charlie Seider, Corey Eisenband and Curtis Rattner had two each. Tyler Levy, Rob Van Raamsdonk, Dash Quartarolo and Tommy Gattuso added single goals. Police Identify 3 People Killed In Danbury Collision DANBURY, Conn. -- An elderly couple from Bethel who had served as elected town officials and a man from Brookfield were identified as the three people killed in a three-vehicle crash late Tuesday morning on Route 53 in Danbury, police said.  The fatal crash occurred at about 11:45 a.m. on Route 53, also known as South Street, near the Bethel border, Danbury police said.  According to the police report, Edward Kish, 45, of Brookfield, was driving a 2001 Honda Accord north on South Street and was slumped over the wheel, according to witness statements.
