Woodward was born in Greenwich to Dora and Edwin Harris. She graduated from Norwalk High School and attended Northwestern University. She entered the U.S. Navy in 1943 as a telegraph operator. Stamford Girls Basketball Team Wins League Title, Rolls To 29 Wins STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Stamford Youngtimers 8th Grade Travel Team captured the Fairfield County Basketball League AA Division Championship with a 63-52 win over Waterbury-North End on March 8 at Darien High School.   The Youngtimers, who finished the season at 29-2 avenged a loss to Waterbury from early January.  Waterbury controlled the glass in the opening period with a 19-9 advantage, but Stamford managed to stand at a tie at 14 after one quarter.
