Frabrizzio's Journey Ends at Silvermine In the past 18 months, Tony Frabizzio's golf journey has taken him to North Carolina, Thailand, South Africa, Fairfield, Florida, Costa Rica and finally, Norwalk. That's a lot of planes, unusual beds and annoying travel fees. Frabizzio, 29, recently joined Silvermine Golf Club as an assistant professional and can put his suitcase down. "I've been known to do crazy things, like drive cross country in my Jeep,'' Frabizzio says. "This will be good. I'll be able to get organized and get focused." Many assistant golf professionals live a nomadic life, but Frabizzio's ride was particularly wild. …

Norwalk Loses Slugfest to New Canaan Norwalk Loses Slugfest to New Canaan Norwalk Loses Slugfest to New Canaan
Norwalk Loses Slugfest to New Canaan Norwalk High School's baseball team had New Canaan pitchers on the ropes several times Monday, but couldn't capitalize on the opportunities. The Rams made the most of their chances, and that was the difference as New Canaan escaped with a 9-6 victory at Malmquist Field. Norwalk (1-3) twice had the bases loaded with none out, but couldn't push across runs. "We had some opportunities but we left a lot of guys on base,'' coach Angelo Bruno said. "You can't fault them for not trying. They did the best they could. We'll find a hole here and there and start to score some runs." Spencer Jacoby and…

McMahon Softball Coach Frustrated After Loss Four games into the season, Brien McMahon softball Paul Jacoby is frustrated. The Senators managed just one hit in a 11-0 loss to Trinity Catholic on Monday and fell to 0-4 for the season. "We had a real good practice, and I thought we improved a lot,'' Jacoby said. "We didn't bring it to the field." Pitcher Tina Boehn struck out 18 batters for the Crusaders, who improved to 2-2. "She's a good pitcher, but they should put her in the FCIAC Hall of Fame after this,'' Jacoby said. The Senators have struggled at the plate in the early season, managing just four runs in four games. They have bee…

Miracle-Colburn Doesn't Run From Age Miracle-Colburn Doesn't Run From Age Miracle-Colburn Doesn't Run From Age
Miracle-Colburn Doesn't Run From Age Many women in their mid-40s think about turning back the clock. Yolande Miracle-Colburn doesn’t sweat it. In fact, the 49-year-old Norwalk runner embraces her age. One of the reasons she will run her fifth straight Boston Marathon is because she’s, well, older. To enter the Boston Marathon, runners need to achieve a standard based on age. Women from 40-44 need to run 3:50:00, while women between ages 45-49 need to run 4:00:00. At 44, Miracle-Colburn ran the Philadelphia Marathon in 3:58:45, about eight minutes behind the Boston qualifying standard. The next year, she ran the Chicago Maratho…
