At 3:05 p.m., a freight train struck a vehicle on Route 535 near Stults Road, South Brunswick police said. The driver said she saw the flashing train lights on Route 535 and stopped, police said. The driver believed she stopped before the train tracks, but she was actually on the tracks, police said. Woman Killed In 3-Car Crash: South Brunswick PD A 61-year-old South Brunswick woman was killed in a three-car crash on Wednesday, Nov. 26, authorities said. At 4:24 p.m., first responders were on the scene of a 3-car crash on New Road between Route 522and Route 1, South Brunswick police said. The woman, one of the drivers, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead at 10:19 p.m., police said. She has not been identified, police said. The crash remains under investigation, police said.

One Injured In Sussex County Barn Workshop Fire: Njsp One person was injured following a barn workshop fire in Sussex County on Friday, Nov. 28, authorities said. At 11:44 a.m., troopers responded to 56 Paulinskill Lake Rd. in Fredon Township and found a barn workshop fully engulfed in flames, Christopher Postorino, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. One person sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Postorino said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Postorino said.

Toms River Supermarket Closing A Stop and Shop in Toms River is closing. The Stop and Shop at 2360 Lakewood Road will be shuttering its doors next year, the store announced. "The store was not meeting financial expectations," company spokesman Daniel Wolk said. Stop and Shop will be operating the store through late spring of next year and all associates will be given the option to transfer to other Stop & Shop locations, Wolk said.
