Murder-For-Hire: Son Gets Life In Prison For Killing Brick Dad Years After Brother's Death A 34-year-old Brick Township man was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of arranging the 2019 murder of his 55-year-old father, four years after losing his older brother, authorities announced Thursday, Jan. 8. On Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, Brick Township police responded to Acorn Drive and found Mark Richard Austin dead after sustaining blunt force trauma, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. At 1 p.m., the Summit Police Department received information from an outside law enforcement agency that it had received a threat and that the caller was believed to be currently in Summit, the city said in a release. UTV Engulfed In Flames: Whiting Fire Company A utility terrain vehicle was engulfed in flames in Whiting on Wednesday, Jan. 7, authorities said. At 8:41 p.m.., firefighters responded to Congasia Road and found a single UTV on fire with all occupants out of the vehicle, Whiting Fire Company Sta. 33 said. Firefighters worked to suppress the fire and prevent further spread to the adjacent brush, fire officials said. The scene was turned over to Manchester police for investigation, firefighters said.
