Man Shot, Killed In Camden: Prosecutor A man was shot and killed in Camden, authorities announced Monday, Aug. 3. At 9:50 p.m., on Friday, July 31, Camden police responded to the 100 block of North 24th Street and found Edgar Velasco-Hernandez with a gunshot wound, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said.  He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead soon after, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.

Inmate Murdered Fellow Prisoner In Chesterfield: Prosecutor A 23-year-old East Orange man was charged with murdering an inmate at the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Chesterfield, authorities said Friday, July 31. On Friday, July 17, correctional officers found Yasin Sellers slumped on the floor and unresponsive in a prison gymnasium following a religious service, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw said. Sellers was pronounced dead at the scene, Bradshaw said. An investigation determined Sellers collapsed after being assaulted by Banton, Bradshaw said.
