An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Man Shot, Killed In Camden: Prosecutor A man was shot and killed in Camden, authorities announced Monday, Aug. 3. At 9:50 p.m., on Friday, July 31, Camden police responded to the 100 block of North 24th Street and found Edgar Velasco-Hernandez with a gunshot wound, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said.  He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead soon after, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.

Man Killed In Trenton Double Shooting A 32-year-old man was killed in a double shooting in Trenton, Sunday, Aug. 2, authorities said. At 3:30 a.m., Trenton police responded to the 300 block of East State Street and found the man shot in the neck, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said. He was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. He has not been publicly identified. Inmate Murdered Fellow Prisoner In Chesterfield: Prosecutor A 23-year-old East Orange man was charged with murdering an inmate at the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Chesterfield, authorities said Friday, July 31. On Friday, July 17, correctional officers found Yasin Sellers slumped on the floor and unresponsive in a prison gymnasium following a religious service, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw said. Sellers was pronounced dead at the scene, Bradshaw said. An investigation determined Sellers collapsed after being assaulted by Banton, Bradshaw said.
