A Long Island deli was running an illegal gambling room in the back before Sunday’s arrest of the owner, authorities said Monday, March 23.
Jose Amaya Barquero, 51, had six electronic gaming machines in the back of G&G Deli and Grocery in Uniondale, the Nassau County Police Department said.
Cops searched the deli around 7:25 p.m. on Sunday, March 22 as part of a quality of life initiative, the police department said. They discovered a hidden room accessible by remote magnetic latch, investigators said.
