His family did not describe the accident that led to his death. Ledesma Jara is being remembered for "his kind heart, caring spirit, and the love he shared with those around him." Police ID Man Killed In Apparent Drowning Off Duxbury Beach Authorities have identified the 66-year-old man who was pulled from the water over the weekend after an apparent drowning, authorities said.  James Merlin, 66, of Duxbury, died on Sunday, July 5, according to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz. Police responded at about 4:30 p.m. after receiving reports of an unresponsive man floating in the water near a beach in Duxbury.
