Two 2-Alarm Fires In Less Than 24 Hrs In Denville: FD
Firefighters were busy in Denville last week, battling two different 2-alarm fires over the course of a day, authorities announced.
At 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, firefighters responded to a structure fire and immediately encountered visible smoke from the residence, the Denville Volunteer Fire Department said.
A second alarm was promptly tolled, allowing additional resources to come to the scene, firefighters said. The fire was eventually declared under control at 9:16 p.m., firefighters said.
No injuries were reported.

Two women were killed in a hit-and-run crash while crossing a Newark street Saturday night, authorities said.
Mariana Elizabeth Valverde Beltran, 58, of Elizabeth, and Maria Isabel DeLosAngeles Salgado Ayala, 61, of Newark, were struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Park Avenue and North 7th Street at approximately 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, according to Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda.
