A 29-year-old Sayreville motorcyclist has been sentenced to time behind bars for a DUI crash that killed his 36-year-old passenger, authorities said. Jack Piatek was sentenced to eight years in New Jersey State Prison by Superior Court Judge Pedro J. Jimenez on Thursday, Feb. 24, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. Piatek must serve 85% of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. A 21-year-old Manalapan man has been arrested in connection with a deadly Route 9 hit-and-run earlier this week, authorities announced. Asbury Park's Anthony Allen, 64, was found lying on the center median near Ferry Road in Old Bridge around 6:45 a.m. on Feb. 15, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. Authorities have released the names of the victims killed in an Edison crash. Ziyad Elsaedi, 21, of North Plainfield, was heading southbound in Route 1 when he struck a tree at Jeff Street around 10:15 p.m., on Feb. 6, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan said.
