Tow Truck Driver Killed In Merritt Parkway Crash
A tow truck driver from an area company that has served Fairfield County for years, was hit and killed in a freak crash on the Merritt Parkway.
Corey John Iodice, 58, Seffner, Florida, was killed around 4:45 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, on the Parkway in the Trumbull area near Exit 47, said the Connecticut State Police.
According to police, the crash took place when Iodice, who was driving an Iodice Family Transport tow truck out of Fairfield, was attempting to load the disabled vehicle of a 25-year-old Bridgeport man.

Many Fairfield County residents are still without power a day after thunderstorms rocked the region, taking down trees and power lines.
As of 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, Eversource was still working to restore power to 9,090 of its 1,279,556 Connecticut customers, while United Illuminating was reporting just six outages, with just one in Fairfield County.

Covid-19: Familiar Westport Faces Share Message Of Unity As Number Of Cases In Town Hits 62
As the number of cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to increase in the Westport/Weston area, local residents, some famous, are offering messages of hope and unity on the town's Facebook page.
As of early Monday, March 23, there were a reported 62 cases of COVID-19 in Westport, and three in Weston, said Director of Health, Mark Cooper. Statewide there are 327 cases.
Cooper said those number do not include testing conducted last week, which will most likely drive the numbers higher.
