Car Slams Into Shopping Center In Somers Emergency crews rushed to a Westchester shopping center after a car slammed into a building over the weekend.  The incident happened around 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Towne Center at Somers, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. Fire and EMS units arrived to find a vehicle had struck the building. The driver was treated at the scene and safely pulled from the car with non-life-threatening injuries, firefighters said.  The scene was later turned over to the town’s Building Department for inspection.

2 Vehicles Stolen From Commuter Lots, Rye Police Say Authorities are warning drivers to take precautions after multiple vehicles were stolen from commuter lots in Westchester. In an announcement on Wednesday, Sept. 10, the City of Rye Police Department reported that two vehicles had been stolen from Station Plaza and Depot Plaza over the past week. The cars had been left unlocked with the keys inside, police said. "Car thieves may appreciate the generosity. We don’t. Don’t hand over your car. Lock it," the department wrote in their announcement on Wednesday.  More information about the thefts was not immediately available.

Crash Blocks Lanes On Cross County Parkway In Mount Vernon (Developing) A crash on the Cross County Parkway in Westchester on Wednesday morning, Sept. 10, has blocked multiple lanes.  The crash happened in the eastbound lanes just after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the area of 37 Cross County Parkway in Mount Vernon near Mount Vernon High School, near Exit 10, according to traffic reports.  The right and center eastbound lanes are now blocked.  More information about the crash was not immediately available.
