Trio Nabbed With Guns, Mushrooms, More During Long Island Traffic Stop: Police
A normal traffic stop on Long Island turned into three arrests after a group was allegedly found housing weapons and drugs in their car, police announced.
It happened on Friday, Aug. 25 in Valley Stream, according to Nassau County Police.
At approximately 2:50 a.m., police pulled over a black Chevy Traverse SUV that was traveling north on Franklin Avenue for a broken tail light.
However, during the investigation, police reported finding two guns — a revolver and a loaded 9 mm handgun — along with metal knuckles, a crowbar, and wire cutters.

A Hudson Valley man has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon found during a traffic stop.
Dutchess County resident Davis A. Weir. age 33, of Hyde Park, was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 13 around 6:30 p.m., in the area of Violet Avenue and Yates Avenue in Hyde Park.
According to Hyde Park Police Robert Benson, when officers stopped Weir for speeding they could see a handgun on the driver's side floorboard.

A Springfield man out on bail for heroin and cocaine offenses was arrested again Wednesday, Aug. 10, on drug, robbery, and stalking charges, authorities said.
Paul Vargas, 29, was busted after police recognized his car as one that had been spotted for months in a stalking investigation in Indian Orchard, Springfield police said.

A motorcyclist who tried to give a Lyndhurst police officer the slip was captured following a brief chase, authorities said.
Jaydan Tejada, 19, of Lodi, was carrying a large kitchen knife, a ski mask, and assorted drugs -- crystal meth and psilocybin mushrooms, as well as THC candies and vaporizers -- following the pursuit, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said.

A 29-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged with numerous drug and weapons charges, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced on Thursday, June 15.
David Pineiro was arrested following a months-long investigation, Suarez said. Police recovered four forearms and various illegal narcotics, valued at more than $50,000, Suarez said.
