What began as a home burglary in Fair Lawn ended with a crash in Franklin Lakes and the arrest of the driver exactly 12 hours later. An out-of-town resident reported remotely seeing two burglars on a security camera in her Koenig Court home just off Route 208 at 8:06 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, Fair Lawn Police Sgt. Jersey City Bicyclist, 34, Dies In Route 78 Crash
A 34-year-old Jersey City cyclist was killed after he was struck by a vehicle on Route 78 West in Union County on the morning of Monday, Sept. 11, authorities said. Irving Batista was riding his Zugo e-bike when it was struck by a Ford pickup truck at 6:09 a.m. in Union Township, Detective Jeffrey LeBron said. After being struck by the Ford, the e-bike overturned and was struck by a Madza, Lebron said. Batista sustained fatal injuries, Lebron said. Authorities are still investigating the crash, Lebron said.

Kenilworth officers responded to Boulevard and Michigan Avenues on a report of a stolen white Ford Explorer traveling eastbound Friday, July 21, police said. QuickChek Continues North Jersey Expansion With Four New Stores
There are more QuickCheks in the Garden State. QuickChek, a convenience store known for its subs, recently opened a location in Totowa at 809 Riverview Drive at Route 46 West. The 5,670-square foot store opened its doors on Tuesday, May 9. The Totowa location is the fourth QuickChek to open in the last six weeks, including stores in Ridgefield and Union Township. A 37-year-old Bronx, NY, man was found guilty of sexually assaulting an elderly woman in Union Township, authorities said. Man Dies Removing Christmas Lights In Fall From Ladder In Union County: Police
A 62-year-old man died when he fall from a ladder removing Christmas lights in Union County over the weekend, authorities said. The man landed on a concrete walkway and hit his head outside of his Ray Avenue home in Union Township around 11:50 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, township police said. There were apparently no witnesses at the scene, so it was unclear high how he was when he fell, police tell NJ Advance Media. The unnamed victim was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
