3 Dead In 5-Vehicle Crash On Route 33: State Police Three people were killed in a crash that began with an out-of-control tractor trailer on Route 33 in Monroe County Wednesday, March 1, Pennsylvania State Police said. The southbound trailer lost control and ended up in the northbound lanes, where it struck another tractor trailer and three other vehicles head-on, around 11 a.m. near the Saylorsburg exit, police said in a statement. A driver and front-seat passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of another vehicle was pronounced dead at the hospital.  The highway was closed for several hours.
